Romero Immigration Law is a dedicated firm committed to providing legal services in family immigration, humanitarian visas, removal defense, and waiver filings. We are passionate about helping individuals and families navigate the complex immigration system with compassion, diligence, empathy, and expertise.

Marlén Romero García, Esq. | Principal Attorney
Marlén was born and raised in Elgin, Illinois to Mexican immigrant parents. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Political Science and Spanish/Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, during which time she assisted at the Bilingualism Research Laboratory. Shortly after obtaining her degree, Marlén worked as a Community Outreach Counselor then an Immigration Counselor for Centro de Informacion in Elgin. It was through her work with the community how she realized her true passion, assisting immigrants as they traversed our complex immigration system.
Marlén obtained her Paralegal Certification with Elgin Community College, working as a Paralegal at ROS Law Firm and then Global Immigration Associates. In 2019, Marlén graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law where she received an International Law Certificate and an award for her work in public interest. As a law student, Marlén interned at Law Offices of Shirley Sadjadi, Chicago Immigration Court, and Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project. Marlén worked as a Staff Attorney for National Immigrant Justice Center before working as an Associate Attorney at Law Offices of Shirley Sadjadi. Now, she is an Immigration Attorney for the YWCA, Elgin.
Marlén also helps the immigrant community by volunteering at nonprofit organizations. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. Marlén is a member of the Chicago Chapter of American Immigration Lawyers Association. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
